This course offers a quick exploration of evidence-based strategies that help children to learn to read, often referred to as the Science of Reading. Learners will explore strategies to teach phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension, all of which are important for a child to obtain successful reading skills.  Additionally, will explore the research behind these five pillars of reading and explore hands on strategies and resources.
