What is a cross connection?
According to the Canadian Standards Association, a cross connection is defined as any actual or potential connection between a potable water system and any source of pollution or contamination. Cross connections are present in every water system; depending on the size of the system, hundreds or thousands of potential cross connections can exist.
What is Recertification?
Cross connection certification tickets are valid for 5 years. Individuals must go through re-certification training and examination before the expiration of their active back-flow prevention ticket. Successful recertification will validate backflow prevention for another 5 years.
