In this highly interactive six-hour workshop, K–12 educators will gain the practical tools and confidence needed to bring AI into any classroom. Participants will learn to create a clear,
student-friendly AI glossary, identify and showcase AI examples, and apply an ethics checklist to select classroom-appropriate tools. Through guided activities, they will adapt existing lessons with brief AI exploration segments and design a fully structured AI learning task, then pilot it with peers for real-time feedback. The workshop is organized into two 2-hour sessions each followed by 1-hour practical activities. By day’s end, teachers will be equipped to lead meaningful AI explorations, foster critical thinking, and personalize learning for their students.

Learn how to make your own raincoat, perfect for the Vancouver climate. Working with a pre-made pattern, students will learn and experiment with sew-free and specialty machinery we have on campus, creating their very own raincoat. Through techniques such as seam sealing, both by machine and by hand, working with waterproof fabrics, and learning sewing 'tricks', students will gain greater understanding of the steps involved in the process of making a raincoat, while ending the course with their very own raincoat, perfect for the rainy season.
