Cross Connections Full Course - According to the Canadian Standards Association, a cross connection is defined as any actual or potential connection between a potable water system and any source of pollution or contamination. Cross connections are present in every water system; depending on the size of the system, hundreds or thousands of potential cross connections can exist. 

Students and/or working professionals from a variety of professions and trades are encouraged to take the backflow assembly tester certification course. Courses prepare students for the backflow assembly tester certification exam and are accredited by the BC Water and Waste Association (BCWWA).

Cross connection certification tickets are valid for 5 years. Individuals must go through re-certification training and examination before the expiration of their active back-flow prevention ticket. Successful recertification will validate backflow prevention for another 5 years.

IMP: Please note there is an additional fee for the BCWWA Tester Recertification Exam that you must register for and pay online for the exam directly with BCWWA as soon as possible, and no later than the Friday prior to your course in order to be eligible to take the exam.

A week-long summer camp which incorporates Indigenous ways of learning and being (“Indigenous Voices Matter” and “Weaving Indigenous Worldviews”), and includes targeted information sharing about creating inclusive, safe, and respectful space for all learners.
The fun and exciting week will begin with introductions and orientation to the program and appropriate safety training followed by exposure to 4-5 skilled trades through hands-on learning and instruction combined with storytelling.

Tue to Fri: 9:00am - 3:00pm

This week-long summer camp will focus on the Electrician trade. The camp is specific to youth aged 10-16. The week will be front-loaded with an orientation to the program and appropriate safety training. Participants will then experience hands-on learning in a shop environment where they will try out some of the common activities within the Electrician industry.

Aug 10 to Aug 14

Mon - Fri: 9:00am - 3:00pm

This week-long summer camp will focus on the Millwright trade. The camp is specific to youth aged 10-16. The week will be front-loaded with an orientation to the program and appropriate safety training. Participants will then experience hands-on learning in a shop environment where they will try out some of the common activities within the Millwright industry.

July 27 to July 31

This week-long summer camp will focus on the Millwright trade. The camp is specific to youth aged 10-16. The week will be front-loaded with an orientation to the program and appropriate safety training. July 13 to July 17

This week-long summer camp will focus on the Plumbing & Piping trade. The camp is specific to youth aged 10-16. The week will be front-loaded with an orientation to the program and appropriate safety training. Participants will then experience hands-on learning in a shop environment where they will try out some of the common activities within the Plumbing & Piping industry.

Aug 17 to Aug 21

Mon - Fri: 9:00am - 3:00pm

This week-long summer camp will focus on the Plumbing & Piping trade. The camp is specific to youth aged 10-16. The week will be front-loaded with an orientation to the program and appropriate safety training. Participants will then experience hands-on learning in a shop environment where they will try out some of the common activities within the Plumbing & Piping industry.
